Due to rising fuel oil costs Ciments Calcia, a member of Italcementi Group, decided to change their complete fuel system on the kiln burner at their plant in Couvrot (Dep. Marne/France). In September 2012 the new petcoke system had been started up in the already prepared Greco kiln burner and at the end of the year Ciments Calcia decided to invest in a natural gas modification kit to be implemented in their existing system.
This kit consists of a valve train for 3500 Nm3/h, a fuel management system, a gas lance, a flame sensor as well as the modification kit for the burner itself. Everything is installed according to EN 746-2 including failsafe programming on the fuel and burner management system. This new update was installed and started after a short kiln stoppage in the middle of June 2013.
