Seminar “Understanding Processes – Optimizing Processes”

Irrespective of the actual crisis, the optimization of the production processes remains a permanent objective in the cement industry. Whether triggered by fuel substitution, ­necessitated by equipment retrofits or simply to raise existing ­potential: a solid understanding of the processes and their prevailing phenomena forms the core of any successful optimization ­project. “Understanding Processes – Optimizing Processes” deals with these topics.

A one day seminar – organized by Dipl.-Ing. Matthias ­Mersmann (3e consult) in cooperation with Dr. Martin Weng (aixprocess) – deals with typical tasks of the cement industry: fuel substitution, reduction of emissions, efficiency increase and others. The participants will get an insight into state-of-the-art process engineering methods – CFD, thermochemical process modelling, plant simulators. The seminar demonstrates how numerical methods contribute to solving the most challenging objectives. Potentials and limits of numerical methods are discussed, so that the participants will be able to generate reliable results from these tools or manage projects with external CAE-suppliers successfully.

The seminar provides valuable knowledge for production engineers and managers, process engineers, project engineers, technical advisors and executives. All participants are invited to present a real world optimization case when registering for the seminar by April 15st. Within the seminar’s workshop, these cases will be handled as a primary advice free of charge. Every participant will receive a free test license for the CFD-Software package ANSYS FloWizard.
